Muslim victim articles after any attack

In Canada after an attack by ISIS ie. Paris and recently California there are always a bunch of questionable articles about some Muslim woman verbally abused or some mosque vandals... It seems staged like damage control by them. Does the same thing happen in the USA? It's like the media is making them victims instead of the actual victims.
