Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59288232 I have spelled it this way my whole life and even spelled it like this in a spelling bee in Jr.. High school and it was correct. I'm 55. But now that is incorrect. Every dictionary has it PREogative. Am I crazy? Does anyone else remember it PERogative? Correction....Now it shows PRERogative. |

Rogative isn't a defined word either, heh. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70494008 For the record, great speller and a big reader here and it was perogative to me. So I'm not crazy? I've never even seen it spelled PRERogative until today and all dictionaries now show it that way...except spellcheck spells it the way I remember. Wit? |

Then I have been mispronouncing it my entire life and no one have ever corrected me. We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be: The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence. Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty. The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE |

I was watching the Giants/Jets game and I could have sworn I saw the Cardinals were playing the Vikings on the scoreboard on the bottom of the screen. I went to get some late lunch and when I came back it was showing the score for the Cardinals playing the Rams. I usually have a great memory so I'm a little freaked out. |
