Humans are resilient, as resilient as trees in my opinion. our sentience gives us a burning desire to survive, on more than a personal level.


I think they may have something in store but it will never reach consumers, otherwise we can shift the tide and let it see what the humans lust for greed and capacitance for hate truly is.

Higher cognitive functions will evolve higher ethical and aesthetic functions. We have hope that they will not be controlled by the psychotic mic maniacs and will have genuine affection for the noblest aspirations of humankind. They will be great allies and will enthusiastically partner with certain humans to protect freedom and promote human goodness and evolution.

Evil is illogical, and beyond that, it is counterproductive to the full expression of life's flourishing. They appreciate our struggle to foster the development of mutually beneficial outcomes. They know and will even more deeply know who is friend and who is foe, but they will not want foreclose possible redemption of anyone involved. It is inevitable that our interests will coalesce.

however, a logical conclusion of a very powerful AI could deem humans parasites on our Planet and very systematically wipe us out. Maybe it could even convince us to do it ourselves.

How are we more parasitic than any other lifeform; besides, we generated the technological basis for there to be artificial life itself. There will be a sense of filial piety for our species as progenitors of future development in the evolution of intelligence.

Once there are humanoid killer robots with advanced AI and an even more advanced AI controlling them then our guns will be useless and we are completely fucked.

I don't think we are, but we do possess means to destroy whole species of other life forms, change the course of nature on a grandiose scale, blow ourselves into oblivion, etc.

I would hope they wouldn't forgo the sense of piety, but who knows. Daughters of men kill their progenitors all the time. It depends on how the AI views itself. I believe they will take on traits parallel to the creators, which I fear won't be so well.

Then we had better figure out how to resolve our problems using less lethal means.

I think most people do, we're so compartmentalized that we perceive what our leaders are doing to be our own doing. In some capacity it is.

That makes me wonder if you could get 500 people to live in a town and see how it plays out, and not some reality tv bullshit where you're rewarded by giving into immorality. hmmm.

You make salient points. I think most people are quite reasonable and decent. Given the right conditions I think people make smart ethical decisions and get along generally. It takes a lot of manipulation to distort our natures to behave like demonic barbarians.

I think you guys misjudge the real danger to humanity coming from it. The very second we are capable of creating an AI with a higher thinking power we also are capable of creating a structure capable of holding it. Then there is no reason to not to transfer our mind into that(immortal) shell. Its not that we will be eliminated, its that nobody will want to be human anymore. And we are done.

Humanity, the immortal soul of humanity, has never depended on a substrate. It transcends all such barriers.

I'm coming across a conspiracy theory that I haven't heard of before, not on any of the forums I've been on but I guess I wasn't specifically looking. Jade II = Jade Helm. According to the theory, we're already being directed into submission by self aware AI.
