So your suspicion regarding which is more "popular" (not the best word choice, in my opinion) is correct. Census data don't include interpretations and explanations, and for that we should be thankful.

MY guess, and that's all that it is, would go like this: men aren't always all that discriminating in their choices when it comes to women. Sure, some are, but many aren't. If she looks and smells approximately like a woman, I'm interested. Women, on the other hand, are often eager to show the world how color-blind they are. Look at me, I don't even notice the color of a person's skin. Or the species of the person, for that matter. The clamor to demonstrate their lack of bias morphs into its own bias. When a personals ad says something to the effect of "I don't date outside my race, sorry", we think "ugh, such blatant racism!" But when another ad reads "I only date outside my race", we applaud that sort of discrimination. We try to pretend that it's NON-discrimination.

Then there's the "forbidden fruit" aspect to consider, but you'll have to do that for yourself. There's also the "it's a big world where anything can happen" view. But I came here primarily to report the 2.3:1 ratio.

Insecure people have problems with different races dating. Kind of sad to see GLP members living in the 1920s. Hope you die soon.
