From my understanding, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER guns. Is that true? I dont know but have always thought that there was no law requiring "registration" Can you help me out with that?

It was a short barrel AR 15 rifle, and that requires a tax stamp, that's the registration they are alluding to. The news article makes out sound like he had a scary illegal AR 15, but failed to mention the short barrel

Thank you. I have never understood the whole "registered weapon" thing. Because there is no requirement to do so as far as I know. Background checks yes and all that noise, but, "registered firearm" is a term I just dont understand and they throw it around all the time like its a law or something
