There is a trust listing all the people my aunt left her assets to. My two cousins, her brother, liquidated everything my aunt had (Myself and two siblings were raised by her, and she adopted three selfish greedy assholes) left to all of us. The three properties they let go to hell, never put one penny into the properties and they are now worthless. The guy lives right next door and couldn't bother taking care of the house. The first accounting was written on something a little larger than a post it note and a check for $4,900. I hired a lawyer. They wrapped the money up in a nice little package for themselves. The accounting they put forth was full of lies including a forged document saying she loaned him $15k the day before she died. I WAS THERE, it never happened. I flew in to town to surprise her for her 90th birthday. She was in bed with a black foot! Crying! I put her in the hospital when I got there but she was dead in four days. I have an email stating they were going to add us as beneficiaries back in 2010, and they needed our s/s numbers. I have another email after she died saying there was cash, investments and life insurance and installments would be coming as they closed things out. Three years later, $7k in lawyers fees I have received $4,900. I need to find someone smart enough to legally turn the tables on this slime ball. Sorry for the jumbled thoughts. |

Sounds like you never provided the SS numbers and got the paper work done. If that'd the case your only option to fuck them is burn the shit houses down and force them to pay thousands in clean up fees after you send in multiple complaints to the city about the mess. |

They are the executors and he was POA so, they were supposed to do it. Being she is a lawyer and was advised by two financial guys on how to handle the trust.....they were the ones who had to do it. All in her words, in an email to seven people. No grounds...not so sure. BTW we all gave our s/s #'s. And one property is in a ritzy village and the property is on the river. Cousin lives right next door and told me once he considered it abandon property. He's a class A jackass. |

Loans need to be paid back to the estate even though the lender died. The three properties they let go to hell, never put one penny into the properties and they are now worthless. The land those properties sit on is worth money! Even if the structure is a tear down. Get the land alone appraised. Find the attorney she had her will/trust with and call him/her. You have every right to have that attorney read & explain it to you (as an interested party). Numbers of life ins. policies will be listed on the will/trust. Keep in mind, she might have had very little & this might cost you mmore than you make back. I would begin by sending a CERTIFIED letter to filthy bastards asking for 3 things. The attorneys name & address...The appraisers name and address...and if they have a more detailed papers of the appraisal. That certified letter is how it's all going to begin with or without an attourney so you might as well do that yourself. |

He is paying back the "loan" but honestly how do we know how much he took. He only revealed this after I got a lawyer. He also kicked back in an investment worth $10k he said he "just found" but when I forced new accounting they had put that investment thru probate like eight months before, yet another lie. The properties are all selling/sold but way less then they should have, one property had mold to the ceiling before they checked on it. It was their summer home, pipe burst. The property had been in my family for generations, I told them not to sell it until they talked to me (insurance company was still involved, working out demo costs), next thing I know they sold it for $9k after paying off demo costs. Also, the original lawyer was trying to settle the estate, he was a friend of my uncle's (attorney too), the guy was so old. I think he quit because my cousin wouldn't do anything he suggested and was just an all around pain in the ass to work with. |
