A Big Hug for the Weekend! | |
scimitar User ID: 148316 United States 10/20/2006 09:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes.... we all play a part in creating the personality of GLP. Up for a long story? When my first marriage ended with my Ex taking my two children 5 & 8 out of state with the man she was running off with I lost the opportunity to live with my daughter. My Son came back to live with me when he was 14. When she graduated from High School and came to Orlando to go to UCF..... where I live..... I finally had an opportunity to be around her more often. I noticed that she was always happy and smiling..... I mean always. I knew that this was a front, no one is always that happy. This was a brick wall blocking an effort to really get to know her. She always denied it...... always! Until.... Prior to her graduation from UCF she had made plans to move to Virginia to live with her boyfriend of 5 years whom she planned to marry. Her mother disagreed vehemently and was always voicing it. I caught my daughter in a lie about where she was one time and problems arose....... I had told her many times that life is about making decisions and she was old enough to make her own..... there was absolutely no reason to lie to me. The discussion became heated because she thought I was like her mother and wanted to control her life...... we had an arguement and for the first time I saw the smiles disappear. She started to walk out the door screaming mad. I began to cry and called her back. When she turned around she was crying. When we saw each other crying we embraced...... from that point on the wall was gone...... This is not a derrogatory comment, but is your life really that happy all the time and if not why not let us know that as well.... or maybe you have and I just haven't seen it. Awwww.... what the Heck Ominous regressions One Truth... many realities |

Quoting: scimitarAwwww.... what the Heck Scimitar, First let me thank you for the hug, second thank you for sharing a most heartfelt part of your life. I feel there are many walls in front of us to break through. I am no different! I am so very happy to know that you and your daughter have broke down that dreadful wall. Love prevails! To answer your question. I have always been an emotional person. When I laugh, cry, am angry, or sad....it's with a great deal of passion and emotion! My life has had its ups and downs. Why? Because I am basically a woman with a lot of patience...peacemaker amongst times when temperments flew. I have had my share of hurt...but faith in God and me plus the love I have for people made me come back stronger yet. I grew up in a multicultural neighborhood, I saw lots! One thing my parents stressed was diversity. Never judge! Our lives are not perfect...no matter who we are. So I see or try to see the good in eveyone. Don't think that it has not come back to hit me in the face. I care! And I will go down laffin! Because life is what WE make of it! Am I happy? Not always, my emotions run deep. I overcome the sadness when I look outside myself...and see you and all the others in this world and know that I have an abundance of love to share. I am determined. Depending on how you choose to love; it does hurt but it is the key to life and happiness. I hope I answered your question. "Where there is a will, there is a way!" |

My only reason for the original comment centered around the fact that I tend to disregard mindless huggy huggy fluff.... mainly because it sometimes says nothing but "hey I want to say something and have absolutely no idea what so just drop in some meaningless fluff". It takes a bit more of a dissertation to show that you have some meaning behind it. I believe you mean it...... Thanks! Ominous regressions One Truth... many realities |

My interest is symbolic as a weapon to realize triumph over deceit and cut to the truth of the matter. Since I have a Scottish hieritage I fancy the thought. I gave my son a Scottish Claymore which he hangs on his wall too...... He bought a kilt and actually wears it to work on occasion..... not sure I have the nerve for that. Ha Ha No offense Daj!
