Re: + Hemp +
No pesticides or fertilizer needed.

It's spiritually criminal that it's not widely used.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 153788

you're correct, it needs not pesticides or herbicides. bugs don't like it and it (hemp) is grown so closely together that weeds don't grow.

crops like corn leech nitrogen from the ground but hemp adds to the soil.

it is more difficult to harvest but it is done in other countries.

instead of getting important omega fatty oils from fish full of mercury, one can have hemp oil or seeds.

Re: + Hemp +
hola!
______
here's the thing that confuses me about the "hemp-is-exact-same-as-pot" thing.
___
I have here the empty "Hemp Seed Oil" jug from my fridge at work. I'm gonna do my cuttings in containers made from these black plastic jugs....they're just so pretty with the flaming hemp leaf label and black plastic and all. This 3 litre jug i pay about $55 cdn at the corner health food store.
But , man! I'm reading the label here,,,and i got to almost weep for the poor south-of-the-border people.
This oil, which i drink in shakes and wherever....is loaded:
omega6-56.5%
omega3-18%
GLA-4%
palmitic-7%
oleic-12%
calcium-1%
thc-0.0%
:)
[[www.goldtoporganics.com....i think these guys are in sask.]][[ i covet ingred's breakfast, and so should yankees. the climinator, mr. arnold schwartzenegger seems to have brought some "common sense" to california. It should grow.]]

So....that's my point. This oil....pressed directly from actual HEMP SEEDS....HAS 0.0% THC. I know.
 Quoting: cb

it's sad that law limits so many from having so many good things. again, the reason for no thc is it's harvested and grown differently.

Re: + Hemp +
The Cannabis plant is a wondrous plant indeed...

It can supply us with food, fuel, clothing, and building materials in a most effective way. It binds, cleans and replenishes toxic and/or depleted soil, and it can also provide us with anything from a calm and laidback relaxation - to intensely enlightening and life-changing experiences...

It is thought that the domesticated wolf - that in time turned into races as varied as Chihuahuas
and New Foundlenders, have been with us and selected and diversified for around 10 000 years. Archaelogical evidence suggests that cannabis' relationship to humanity is more than 50 000 years old...

No other plant has the diversity of uses than that exhibited by this miracle of nature, and we ourselves most certainly have played a decisive role in it's evolvement into different genotypes suited to tasks as different as suppliers of food, fibre - and intoxication.

A part of the signaling-system in our very own brains are due to and dependent of our own synthesised cannabinoids, and thus the plant is a natural replicator of vital human brain-signaling substances...

No other plant have the diversity or potential for medicinal, recreational and practical use than the blessed cannabis plant.

The ban of this plant is a crime against humanity and nature - no less.

Re: + Hemp +
it tastes great.
______________
Minneapolis, MN - On March 21, 2003, the DEA issued a final rule regarding the legality of hemp foods. The new rule seeks to ban the sale of ALL Hemp Food Products and to prohibit the import of hemp oil for cosmetic manufacture as of April 21, 2003. French Meadow Bakery is confident that this ruling will be overturned again as it has been in the past. In March of 2002, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a "Stay" on a similar rule issued back in October 2001.

"Hempseed is a wonder food, it is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. This is a great loss for the health conscience consumers of the United States." says Lynn Gordon, owner of French Meadow Bakery. "Hemp is a rich source of protein, dietary fiber, minerals, iron, vitamin E, and a near perfect composition of essential fatty acids - Omega 3 and 6. French Meadow Bakery's Healthy Hemp Bread is a meal in a slice of bread since it contains all the essential nutrients that a body craves." Lynn gordon says. The might hempseed's 31% protein content is comprised of all 9 essential amino acids! The Omega's 3 and 6 are good fats necessary for optimum health; they lower cholesterol, burn excess fat, support a healthy heart, and boost the immune system.
Ironically, French Meadow Bakery's Healthy Hemp Bread recently received the highest scores in a taste test conducted by Natural Health Magazine.
Industrial hemp is similar to poppy seeds in its exception from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA 21 U.S.C. 802(16)). Environmentally sustainable, it is economically viable to grow hemp. Hemp is a great rotation crop for corn and soybeans. Over 30 other countries now allow and encourage the production of hemp, and it's 25,000 potential uses.
