Introduction to (authentic) Yoga.

the word "Yoga" means "oneness with Divine".
But through standing on my head or doing other hard postures my oneness will only be with the pain in my body ...

The Yoga must be achieved without body activity because of the goal: go beyond the body, beyond the thoughts (which are THE biggest problem).

Become thoughtless aware means SILENCE from thoughts.

I prefer the type of yoga where the room is 110 degrees and the girls wear sports bras and tight pants that sweat at their crotch and you can see their labias.

I met a young man 2 months ago who nearly lost his legs, his kidneys and his life, due to developing compartment syndrome after falling asleep in the lotus position. The dangers are physical as well as spiritual. Nuff said.

As for the new-age deception/tool of the devil business, I've found that most of the people who write about Yoga in such a way don't actually understand what it is in the first place. I've yet to come across one piece of yoga-fear mongering that actually seems to be know Yoga well enough to form a logical argument against it.

They work on hearsay, old wives tales, and plain old racial/cultural bigotry.

Driving a car along roads filled with other cars operated by people driven to secure coin has far more potentially dangerous risks

People associate yoga with physical movements and to a lesser degree the breathe (e.g. kundalini yoga, hatha, kriya, etc), but I believe the single most important branch of yoga is "karmic yoga."

Karmic yoga, is primarily about doing good and loving acts to undo bad karma, accrue good karma, ensure a good afterlife, ensure a good incarnation in the next life, and to eventually help end the reincarnation cycle.

Now

If you're in good health and shape, it'll be easier to do these good acts of service

Therefore

The movement yoga (hatha) will help with this.

The movement yogas should however be a means to an ends, so you can better be a service to others (karmic yoga).

You don't end the reincarnation cycle with "enlightenment."

You'll reach enlightenment regardless in the afterlife, you'll have access to all knowledge.

So this isn't the challenge, the challenge and lesson is being able to use your freewill in this life to love and help others.

People won't automatically do this in the afterlife, as evident by evil spirits.

So if you do practice the movement yogas, let this be way so you can be of better service to others.
