Without my hand this fury burns Without my thoughts, this thing consumes Why, oh God, must I wait for vengeance
Look at them go Not even the heathen behaves as such Yet, we tolerate
And the fury grows
Beware, you who poke and prod Be quiet, you who offer insolence Be still, and know fire has no place in our hands To burn with fury is to be burned by it
I wait patiently
I wait calmly for judgement
I will not be swept over, I will be judged the same
This fury still consuming

Stranger still, fury devolves into sadness. For with fury as I contemplate, I wound myself by my own thoughts-- Yet as the cyclical process continues, I realize that relinquishing my given fury for supernatural justice does in itself produce sadness. But sad for who? The victims? Those committing evil? Us, for letting it reach this point? If there's ever been a need for righteous judgement, I would hope it is always an hour nearer. The spiritual tipping point must be close. |
