What are those tiny dishes
On some rural residences? I'm not talking about Dish Network or other sattalite TV, I'm talking about a tiny dish about 12" in diameter they point parralel to the earth, not up. They are on towers that extend 6-10 feet above the roof. There are quite a few out in the country where I'm building. They are all pointing the same direction...

Could they be snagging internet from a cellphone tower? I notice on my ipad even thought its a rural area there is a 4GLTE signal that's REALLY strong and very fast, faster than in the nearby large city of 700,000

No, they are much smaller than those. And they are not pointing up at the sky to get a sattalite signal. They aer all pointing straight out, and all pointing the same direction.

If it's getting that 4G signal I was talking about, it's not so crappy.

Microwave repeaters for beaming across 22 mile distances. You can set up a series of these to beam signals out to rural areas.

Like cable TV but no wires. It never caught on in any of the cities I ever lived in.
