The distance it will be from earth and its size will be just enough to cause the earth to shutter but not enough to remove us from our orbit, it will cause massive earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, magnetic disturbances, pole shift and perhaps affect the earth's tilt.

Does he realize that the earth orbits the sun? That if the object was near the sun, it would be in the middle of our solar system and yet no inner planets closer to the sun has had disturbed orbit. Better yet, is that every half a year the earth would be on the same side as the object.
