In order to fix the problem back in 2008/09, we would've had to endure a mini depression. No politician wants that. Not Bush. Not Obama.

So they did what politicians always do: they kicked the can down the road for someone else to deal with. That resulted in seven-plus years of *relative* normalcy, supported by HUGE amounts of debt and even bigger derivatives problems than we started with.

Now it's come home to roost because we're running out of viable credit cards.

This one isn't going to be pretty!
