Anonymous Coward User ID: 50311197 United States 02/06/2016 07:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What really struck me was the sheer logic of plane travel.. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50311197 If it takes around 4hrs from east coast to west coast, and the earth is spinning, then a trip west to east should only take less than half that time. That along with the multitude of other solid facts convinced me, its flat. My ex-husband was a military pilot in the Army almost 22 years and his brother flew Apaches. Years ago and at separate times, both mentioned that every military pilot they'd ever known or flew with questioned the "earth is round" theory based on the view from way up, the horizon, and the fact that the travel time from country to country never added up. Something like that. They also made sure to mention that no one really talks about it to higher ups in the military - just to each other...taboo topic. Back then, I was still asleep about life and I was hardly interested. Now, of course, I wished I'd paid more attention to those conversations. Then, just recently, I brought up the globe vs. flat controversy to my son (who flies Cessnas) for the first time and he surprised me by saying that he'd always questioned it as well based on the horizon in flight and how things looked in the simulator. When I mentioned what his dad and uncle (the pilots) told me, he said his dad told him the earth was flat when he was just five after he took him up flying for the first time in a helicopter. He also said his dad made him swear to keep it a secret no matter what he was taught in school - and he sure did because that was 21 years ago and he hasn't said a word untill now. So, that's what I base my suspicions on. BTW....travel time from coast to coast is a little over six hours direct. I read what you are saying in another thread by a pilot. He also said they just didnt speak of it. He went into some technical detail about it. Lol, thanx for the tip on travel time, havent flown since i was a kid. |

My friend did simple math with me, with a map and calculator using specs of earth. And we agreed that if the earth is as big and round as its supposed to be, we would not be able to see an island off the coast, or even close. So we got binoculars and saw the coast. Our math was correct. We should not be able to see even 2/3 there.... How can this be? I did some thinking... why can't we all see Mount Everest? Or a least the Rockies from NY? Or across most of the great lakes? The air isn't clear enough to see that far. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71320604 United States 02/06/2016 08:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I always think about weather forecasting and the way fronts move or don't. Or hurricanes taking four days to arrive across the Atlantic when the Earth is allegedly constantly rotating. It would make forecasting virtually impossible. Say there is a storm front in Texas and they think it will take 3 days to move to the East Coast. How? When supposedly the Earth is rotating very swiftly? How does the weather attach itself to a revolving Earth underneath? If I explained the dilemma properly. |

It's a psyop they're trying to make us look imbecilic to the rest of the world. Sure there are anomalies in space and dimension, but that does not imply that the earth is flat, just ask a commercial pilot ( not a small craft or helicopter pilot)if he thinks the earth is flat |
