Romanians are an European ethnicity, they are descendants of ancient Dacia and of the Roman Empire (Romanian as a term comes from Roman). Their language, Romanian, is also of Latin origin, very close to Italian and Spanish.


"Romani" are in fact Gypsies. They are of Indian origin, they used to be pariahs and nomads in India until a few centuries ago when they migrated to Europe through Egypt and Turkey due to lack of food and because they were badly treated in their home country. They don't have a country of their own... basically they're an ethnicity in every country in Europe, but cannot claim a certain land, except for, of course, India. He succesfully destroyed my country's image all around the globe. Now every uneducated person, thinks that Romania is equal with "romani gypsies" and it is sad.
