Which male actor had the greatest range in history? | |

Hands down. RIP. VERY few have come close to his range. I will agree somewhat on this, the few movies I have seen with him have been good. I wanted to see more and was sad to see lose his life so young. I will always think William Holden was a great actor, dramatic actor. Cannot comment on range however as he seem to be always in a drama role. I m not a big fan of many of our American actors as much as I am of the British ones. So many of my favorite shows for example on HBO and Showtime have stars from the UK, very very good actors. Idris Elba, Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Damien Lewis, Colin Firth, Peter O Toole--the Best!, I could go on, I was able to see Douglas Fairbanks Jr in the West End many many years ago---"The Pleasure of His Company"--WOW he was great. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73473405 Australia 12/14/2016 05:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Best actor I would have to say DeCaprio. He played a retarded teenager so well in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" that many people wondered how Hollywood found a retarded person who could memorize all the lines for the movie. Many many people thought he was actually a retarded person playing the part in the movie. He was phenomenal. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35304365 Most versatile I would say William H. Macy. Guy can play ANYTHING and nail it. I agree mate, I like both suggestions, but I'd have to say Tom Hanks, from love movies to playing a kid to the 'challenged' all american (Forrest Gump) to an astronaut to a bloke who acted the whole movie on his own with a volleyball to a religious cowboy...not bad. Denzel would be in my next group aswell with Leo & Macy |

Him, Tim Roth (compare Reservoir Dogs & Four Rooms) and Tom Hardy (compare Bronson and Legend). Flawlessly. AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM: KICKING ASS, KILLING NAZIS, KILLING COMMIES, MAKING BABIES, BUILDING CITIES, EXPLORING SPACE, GOING TO THE MOON, AND PUTTING THE "CIVIL" IN CIVILIZATION SINCE 1776! ****************************** But I tell you this man, I tell you this, I carry an aura of "fuck you" everywhere I go and while I may not cause scenes I can sure as hell continue them and escalate them but good. ****************************** There is going to be a second revolution folks. Count on it - and it will be the citizens against the government. It will be damn bloody. It will be a war of attrition. It will result in over 100 million dead. The heavy handedness of the government - the fascists in code enforcement and animal control especially - have brought this upon themselves. |
