Happy fat Tuesday! What are you giving up for lent? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 61659097 United States 02/09/2016 09:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Happy fat Tuesday! What are you giving up for lent? Lent is a time of preparation for Catholics all over the word for the passion of Jesus. The little sacrifices we give up during this time brings us closer to the will of God, for we were once ash and to ash we will return. What are you giving up for the season of lent? I will be giving up GLP for one! No fast food. No sugar and creamer in my coffee. [ link to youtu.be (secure)] |

I don't believe a lot of the churches teachings and disagree with its past history but with that being said giving up something to get closer to God is a winning concept. I'm giving up fast food and masturbation |

I'm also gonna go to church more often and take communion in a state of grace and see how that goes. The man upstairs seems to think I would make a good priest . But I'm still arguing with him. Lord I am talented at filmmaking and writing I could go into the world and make huge change . I feel like he is like son don't be a part of this world be a part of mine . Sigh |

Reading spiritual material during lent is encouraged. Look into getting one of these marvelous little books for daily devotional reading. My Daily Bread [ link to www.amazon.com (secure)] My Imitation of Christ [ link to www.amazon.com (secure)] I have found these little books invaluable during the Lenten season. Blessings! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39816044 It would be best if you went to holy Latin mass every day. Also to confess at least once a week. Being in a state of grace has such value if you only knew how wonderful this gift is, you would go to great lengths to preserve it! |

Give up catholicism and follow Christ. Does it make sense that a catholic church has idols everywhere? I grew up catholic, I love a lot of catholics.... Please educate yourself on the topic if you're unsure. Start with the reformation in the 1500s that resulted in the Vatican slaughtering Christians by the thousands for the crime of owning or distributing the first Bibles in English so the common man could know the Word of God. |

I'm not Catholic, but I'm finding that my natural cycles go along with some of these holidays, so I'm giving up TICKETS. Going anywhere or doing anything that requires a TICKET. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to forfeit the ones I bought before Lent. I've indulged in too much media lately and I feel brainwashed. |
