The fact is if you have a record you can't get a decent job. There should be a limit on backround checks. I'd say 5 years.

Why would you stop looking for unemployment? I would of constantly move looking for work online and on foot. But I kind of understand if you have kids because it is kinda hard. But why not let the father move across the country looking for work. Once he finds works he can send money to his family. I guess it's not that easy doing it as you say it.

The internet reports oil jobs lost in the tens of thousands, however, we live in an oil patch area and not only those workers but office workers, boat company employees, etc. have lost jobs. The number in the US is probably at least 500,000. There are boats docked for a 20 mile stretch on just one bayou and we have lots of bayous in south Louisiana. These are boats that were consistently working before oil bottomed out. Companies that have been family run for decades are contemplating bankruptcy. This is just in Louisiana. Texas, the Dakotas, Oklahoma, etc. have all had to let thousands of workers go. These job losses are felt immediately locally in the retail segments but this impact will begin to spread.
It's why I get so annoyed when people cheer lower gasoline prices. Low prices seem good until you or your neighbor in say Ohio or New Jersey lose their jobs because the companies they work for are indirectly affiliated with oil. Then, your friend or relative lose their pension because the money was invested in oil.
The situation is dire and the future is bleak. Plus Obama wants to add a $10 per barrel cost to the oil companies. That's 30% of what a barrel is getting now. Don't be fooled. He began to ruin different segments of our industry and is continuing. After oil, what industry is next? He has dismantled our economy. We will need a POTUS who will bolster both our economy and the morale of the American people in 2016 or we're done. We don't need someone who wants to tax us more-up to 90% like Bernie Sanders.

Men and women did that by going to work in oil producing states only those jobs are gone. Who wants to move across the country to work at Wal Mart? That kind of job won't cover moving costs. Steel? No jobs, Coal? No jobs, Tourism? low pay
What types of work are you suggesting people move to find? There are no jobs.

Well, if Trump does win, he can put everyone of this 95million back to work building that goddamned wall!

doesn't mean that you have stopped looking, just means the government no longer counts you as unemployed.

When your unemployment checks run out, you're not being counted anymore on the list of unemployed people in your state who are actively seeking work. You officially disappear - until they think you owe them something. Anyone who has applied for unemployment compensation, received it and did not find employment by the time those checks ran out, is not showing up in media or government 'statistics.'

Here in NM, thousands of people who did qualify for unemployment compensation received no checks and were instead, sent a letter from the state saying that the state accepted their eligibility but just didn't have the money to pay. No, I am not kidding.

Also, many people lost full-time job because of Obamacare--rather than pay insurance for a full-time (30 hours per week) employee, companies got rid of full-time staff and went to 2 or 3 temps which showed lots of people being hired.

Most blue collar trade jobs (carpenter, mason, plumber, electrician) which used to provide a solid low middle class life for millions of families now taken by illegals.

I'm sure there must be a percentage of those going to college, living on grants and loans? That is a type of "occupation" for a while.
