In Finland same situation. People are under heavy bank loans and unemployment is rising every day. Our economy is now 60 % public spending and only 40 % private spending, which sounds similar to food stamp thing you mentioned.

I live in a very nice area of upper-end homes. Every job that has been done in the last couple of years in my neighborhood has been done by South Americans. Tree trimmers, lawn maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, granite installers, carpet installers, cabinets installers, sod layers, roofers, sprinkler system installers, painters, low voltage electric wiring, and others. I have contracted with Lowes and other companies and the crews are excellent workers but not citizens. I know because I talk to them and most except the crew chief do not speak English. I know of many people (citizens) that would be happy to do these jobs. It is not like they are working in the fields. The man-power center is full of them and if you are white forget about it.

Oh and every fricken restaurant is full of non speaking workers. There are no teenagers working there anymore.

My solution would be to severally penalize any employer that hires an illegal and enforce our current laws. If building the wall will slow it down, build it. It sure can't hurt.

BUT I was in my local walmart last week and overheard the morning meeting. The manager was just telling his staff that their sales have been wayyyy down and that this week alone sales were off by $20,000. Bucks! Yowzaa! That ain't good folks.

The economy has been on life support for a while but the patient is about to take a turn for the worse.

I wouldn't want to be most of you younger folks today. This next recession is gonna be a doosey!

To make matters even more bizarre My Neighbor shot my other neighbor to death in my front yard saturday night.

You think that is bad. I work for a Class 1 freight railroad as a dispatcher. Freight is WAY down. Its a lot worse than it was in 2008.

Just look at the Baltic Dry Index.

The railroad is a precursor and its going to get worse.

Although my income has shrunk a little, what you're talking about has glaringly shown up at the local Publix grocery store.

Forbes magazine has said Publix might be the best company in America to work for, so as you can imagine, it does well.

Or it least it used to do really well.

The employees here are great. But the number of cashiers needed has gone down considerably. They use maybe half of what they used to have to keep the same level of service.

It has been like this for about a year.

According to what is in the news, Walmart is not picking up the slack from Publix either. The customers appear to be shopping less, period. Like you, many people are running out of money.

But not all those workers are illegals only a small percentage of them are. The illegals do yard work, famr work and work in restaurants for less than minimum wage which is why the employers employ them. It is about the employer saving money by skirting the laws. They will fix that when they move to a cashless society eventually.

My wife works as a manager at walmart and I sell cars retail
and we are both seeing the exact same thing. Total liquidity failure, Nobody has any money and If it were not for food stamps wallmart would be out of business.


Things are so bad I have not sold a single car in 4 months.

People have want they want from cyberspace. Back in the 80s and 90s computers costed a small fortune and only did basic functions and no Internet. Today you can have a cellphone that does the job of hundreds of devices eg maps clocks tvs camera video camera radio telephone book pager magazine newspaper diary GPS games console calculator walkie-talkie video phone sound recorder guitar tuner research tool library phone book weather center personal assistant data storage device record player record store.... Etc addinfinitum. All for just £15 a month for unlimited 4g data. Of course ppl arent buying physical things anymore. Oh and todays comluters are thousands of times smaller and millions of times faster.
