4 years ago i buried my 18 yr old due to prescription drug over dose, I have an opinion on that

losing a child to the world, and actively assisting in the murder of a child are 2 different things...

I'm so sorry. I'm fighting right now with family vs big pharma...but they refuse to listen. I still love them, they still love me. The loss you suffered...heartbreak of guilt is a hell within itself. The " what ifs" and "I shouldas" will dog every step you take. (Having my own senerio trust me I share your pain.) But Let tell you.. Your post has spurred me on to do my part to spread the truth about these brain dead doctors. My family and friends mock me,but I know the deal. I do the research, and I have learned alot. Again I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you shared.

The schools and counselors are pushing this crap like crack dealers, everyone of them should be charged when a young one dies. They practically threaten parents if they don't put their kids on drugs. I told them to take my son off the Ritalin, even wrote a note, and they still kept giving it to him. I had to march in the school and demand them to give me the pills immediately. I was furious.

I am aware of the heartless evil people on here, when he passed 4 years ago, I had many say on this site that it was my fault and to fuck off. I just want to make awareness of this big problem

The docs are in a precarious position but a lot of them, especially new startups, are plagued by expense.

Painkillers are double edged sword.

More doctors need to stand up for the legalization of marijuana. It's much less dangerous than many drugs "legally" on the market.

It's supposed to treat attention deficit disorder but it's the opposite..

you never hear storys about that because big pharma is protected... its only illegal drugs that they are after. In a small town near where i live, they had these 2 cops with shit eating grins... standing in front of a table on 16 pounds of weed that they found in this guys car. That poor sap will probably spend 20 years in jail.

Sorry, OP. I know your pain. I have an autistic and they wanted him on Depakote. I didn't know anything else and he was violent. The Depakote over the course of 11 years has made him insulin resistant-they call it metabolic syndrome. I never knew anything about that being a possibility and they never told me jack squat. I only started hearing about it when I found out that he had it.

So, I know what you mean. I have him off the Depakote now and we had to fight like hell to get him off it because the docs threatened us, but when he turned 18, he was able to refuse the medication on his own.

I now have him on Geodon and Buspar and he's doing pretty well.

You have to be really careful. Some people are just really susceptible to drug addiction. I really don't think that any child should be given Ritalin, but we've had years now to see what can happen as the child becomes an adult. You have to be careful with any medication.

You didn't know what would happen and your son played a major role in this by doing the drugs the way that he did. You didn't kill him. It's his fault for doing what he did. Some people want to get high and escape. I think that Hydro is horrific. I have a cousin who killed himself with Hydrococodone. When someone decides they are going to take a metric shitload of Hydro, there really isn't anything that you can do about it, but by telling your story, you might be helping someone else protect their child.

I have seen my share of destruction by big pharma, these are soul sucking drugs. Opiates can be very useful for pain, it's the designer drugs like OxyContin that are designed to addict. My mom was on codein for RA for years and decided one day to stop and she did. No addiction. Done.
