Yes, all of those things will get you shamed. Even the mentally ill can control themselves. If they cannot, then they should be locked up. It's a shame for society to let people run around who cannot control their bad behavior. That's not appropriate.

Most fat people are fat because they eat too much and do too little. There are a lot of very fat people and everyone used to know that eating too much is a deadly sin-meaning that it will take your life. That is not new knowledge. It is wrong for people to be really fat.

Men who have sex outside of marriage deserve to be shamed as well. So do women. This is a violation of our society and it is bad for everyone involved. Shame is a means of keeping people from doing things that are damaging to themselves and to society at large.

The more we get away from shaming people, the further degraded our morality.

Are there some situations where a person can't help themselves? Yes. But, people are capable of learning to behave themselves and if you have no social control, no discipline, then they are let go to destroy themselves. That is what is happening in current society.

I could get into the whole topic of being overweight, and the whole "it's genetic" bullshit...but that would be a topic for another thread. Sure, there are people with legit medical conditions...but this would be the MINORITY of obese people, not the majority. Behaviorally speaking...yes, overweight people should feel shame.

If someone has a mental illness, they have a personal responsibility to take care of themselves. It's not a free pass for bad or criminal behavior. Especially since we live in a society where we have TONS of freaking resources. And I've worked in mental health, so I have personal first-hand experience with this.

You are assuming as well that that the majority of folks who are obese are simply lacking control.......as someone who is moderately overweight, I can assure that a lot of (and form speaking with fellow "fatties,") also has to do with depression and lack of self-esteem........and self-esteem is tied to mental health..........so you ARE assuming..........

I've BEEN overweight. After I had my baby, I ballooned up like a fat fucking whale...and it took me 2 years of dieting, exercise, and hard work to lose all the weight...but I fucking did it!!! And I STILL keep doing it...every day...working hard, getting daily exercise, and maintaining healthy eating habits.

People who make constant excuses will never be successful at anything. SMH.

I find that interestingly enough, the ratio of useless ass 50 year olds is PRETTY DAMN PROPORTIONAL to the rate of useless ass millennials. The difference is I don't see the millennials screwing each other over for a 0.5% profit share.
