Re: Parents kicking me out
Keep in mind, most of the people replying in this thread are right winger secret society members who don't need to even try to get a job, or get paid well. Its all set up for them ahead of time.

That's because secret society leaches run non-secret society members out of the workplace and move their "bretheren" in. Secret society members are SELL OUTs.

Also their number 1 favorite insult is to challenge your manhood. If you ever here of a man challenge another man's manhood, remember he is a secret society member who is self-projecting because he knows he couldn't make it without being a sell out.

You can apply for hundreds of jobs all day and never get hired because its all secret society controlled

Apply for Officer Candidate School for one of the branches of the military. If what you say is true and you have a 4 year degree, you go through ~4 months of "bootcamp" and start out an O-1 or O-2 right into a management job making very livable income and everything else in your life is paid for or covering you.

After that your set for life whether you stay in or get out after your obligation time.

Re: Parents kicking me out
I was kicked out of my house when I was 13 and the first thing I did was I got a job hemming dresses at Woolworth's.

After about a year I got a job delivering ice in the city. A few years later I got my license and started driving a milk truck. I met a farm hand and we got married and put 500 dollars down on a farm. He was killed in the war and I lost the farm, but I didn't quit!

I ended up buying my own patch of land. I started small....by raising chickens and peacocks. I used the peacock feathers to sell decorative crafts at my own farmer's market.

Pretty soon I was married again and we had over 3000 acres of fertile farmland and ended up raising 9 kids.

So don't tell me you can't go get a job driving a milk truck. You're just lazy and don't want to work.

Ignore the baby boomers with their live to wage slave mentality, OP. If I were you, I would go into business for myself doing something that doesn't take very much up-front capitol. Advertize a service, you will make much more than minimum wage. Think about it, if you can charge $30/hour to cut grass, you can work half a week, and still be ahead of a full time minimum wage salary. That will give you the extra time you need to look for work.

I disagree with your parents btw. Sorry

Follow you intuition, and don't let other peoples opinions, even theirs, dictate your path.

To the dumb asshole who kept stalking me, and changing his proxy...who also BS flagged me about the high school kids finishing the 1st 2 years of college when in high school...here you go, motherfucker. The program is called Running Start.

[link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

And to other people who were asking about saving college costs, this is also the kind of thing to look into, if your state offers comparable programs.

I'm outta here, motherfuckers. And good luck with life, to the dumbfuck losers. You've already failed half of it.

The Marines are looking for a few good men. The Army is hiring. So is the Navy. If you don't like those then take the burger flipping job and be the best damned burger flipper in town.
 Quoting: TheDogScout

Yall keep saying join the Army, Join the Marines, join the Navy.. When you can't even get in there with a GED anymore. You have to have 15 college credits to have a GED. I have worked for Honda on the manufacturers line, and they fired me the day after I took my payed time off. Real fucked up. Best job I'll probably ever have and they screwed me. But you can't even get into the fuckin Marines without having a fucking bachelors degree now. They pick and choose. It ain't just sign up and they send you to basic anymore. Sounds like to me most of these people are still living in the Vietnam era.

Let's see, so far in this thread I've offered to
Come visit a van dwelling poster at a Walmart parking lot , possibly infuse them with some food cash and laughs, maybe a hotel for few nights, see some things.

No takers

Offer one 20 something "stuck" in Oakland a room in the Hippist area of Nashville, chock full of jobs and opportunities, incredibly hot looking people, including women who mostly date "down", even a homeless guy has a shot here.

No takers

I've made it clear I'm an Mk survivor and my family was top of the heap NWO, and that I'm desperately lonely and in need of a friend.

Nothing

Is there even any more to be said?

By 25 I owned my own business - steel manufacturing - with a 30,000sqft shop, 20+ employees and operating 24/7.

Get an entry level job in something MEANINGFUL that you are interested in. Not some hokey bullcrap liberal garbage - something real that requires skill.
Forget the fact you went to university - you seem too uppity to take a low level entry position because of your degree - forget your degree. I hire engineers and they have ZERO practical knowledge because they don't DO anything. Get your hands dirty and work.
Start off low and work your way up - learning everything you can from everyone around you. Save up your knowledge, work hard, put in extra time and effort. Build a bank of knowledge so eventually you can become extremely skilled at this line of work and you can open your own business.
It takes time and a re-programming of your thoughts, but it is doable. In 15 years you could be somewhere and making good money, or you could be flipping burgers waiting for a job that you think you deserve.

Oh, what a load of crap.

Nothing but excuses.

And anyone who accumulates $75,000 in debt for an undergrad degree is a FUCKING MORON who doesn't know SHIT about responsibly budgeting.

I got a fucking Ph.D., and have about $10,000 in debt. You know how I did it?? I fucking WORKED and PAID my own way through college. Not only that...but I took advantage of opportunities, such as fellowships, grants, scholarships, etc. I found ways to get tuition waivers and stipends, by working FOR the university...I could go on. And this was not decades ago...I finished my doctorate in 2010!!!

Don't blame other people because you are a dumbfuck who WASTED your time AND money in college, all for nothing.

I have zero sympathies for dumbfucks who think they can just take out loan, after loan, after loan...and blow it all...without the slightest consideration to the fact that they will have to pay it back!!

Alright ladies and gents...Unlike some of you I actually went to exercise today and this is my first time logging on since my first post. I'm using a proxy because GLP banned me for posting the truth. Thank you all very much for your suggestions (good and bad).

I have read every single post here and just to clarify, I HAVE worked minimum wage jobs before (actually almost 10 years worth) and graduated college in 2010 with a Psych and Film Studies degree. Had I known college degrees would have been completely worthless down the line I would've skipped it altogether and used those 4 years to gain experience.

I also love it here in California and am not looking to move to the East or Midwest but thank you kindly for the job offer in Philly.

My heart is in the entertainment business and I've had a bit of success in that realm but it hasn't led to anything full time as of yet. So I may move to LA and work at Starbucks for a while and see if I can get my foot in the door in one of those film companies. It's a tough business to get into I know but I don't want to be working in the Matrix working 50 years in something I don't enjoy.

Re: Parents kicking me out
Hello everyone so just a background I am mid-late 20s and have a 4 year degree from one of the best Universities in the country. I had a nice but ultimately dead end job working on a cruise ship. The experience was great but the wages were way below poverty level and the living conditions piss poor so I resigned thinking that I could easily get a job on land that would pay much better.

Well no thanks to Obama, here I am 3 months later unemployed and I refuse to take a minimum wage burger-flipping, coffee-serving job because why did I go to college if that's what I'm going to end up with.

Anyways long story short my parents have had enough of me already after 3 months and gave me 6 months notice basically. I don't really blame them but at the same time it's not like I've been sitting on my ass for years on end mooching off them. I do stuff around the house and help out where I can. I have enough saved that I could move out but I don't have a car and have been getting to all my job interviews via public transportation. All of these interviews are for part time jobs however so I'm stuck either way.

To top this all off I live in the one of the most expensive places in the world (Bay Area) so rent is sky high and buying a house is pretty much out of the question. The blessing is also a curse.

My dad keeps pestering me to buy a house and claims that he bought a fixer upper house in the 80s for $25,000 which is about $70,000 in today's dollars. This was before the house prices went up exponentially in this area but he does not understand why I can't buy one already. He's lived in this same house for 30+ years and I can't understand why he doesn't sell it and go live in a nicer place.

All of this has me fed up and I've started looking for places that I can afford and just get a minimum wage job until something else comes along. I really don't want to do this but it seems like I have no other options.

What say you GLP?
 Quoting: Confused 49292890

Wow, you really are dumb huh? Giving up a paying job on a cruise line where you can get all the hanky panky you want from wives on the trip??? Having a job on a cruise ship is the bomb man, why would you leave that post? So you went to college and took the WRONG courses, is that a reason to leave a good job? You see, right there is what's wrong with our country, you think because you went to school you are entitled to a GREAT job making mega-bucks without having to climb the corporate ladder huh?
You're too dumb, and your parents should kick your ass out of their home. There is no greater motivation than living in a shelter. Of maybe you'll like it, because you seem to think shit should be handed to you anyway huh?
FFS, man up, take a job in construction, at least it pays better than a McJob.

After I got my degree, I got my loan payments deferred for 4 years while I did my post doc work. I was making virtually nothing on my post doc. I always wondered what I would do if homeless. My answer is ...GO CAMPING! Just buy all the stuff you would use if you were hiking the Appalachian Trail. A good backpack, a sleeping bag, and good tent (with a fly for rain) and little portable camping stove. Gets some Ramen noodles a few cans of beans and tuna and camp out. If you find a secret place in the woods that nobody knows about, you can thumb your way to work at any old job in the city, work for 9 bucks an hour and save every cent. Your only expense is food...which is wicked cool. No electric bills, no rent, no one to bother you... what could be better. Before you go to work each morning fold up your tent and sleeping bag then put it in the backpack and hide it under leaves or sticks. People are assholes and will steal you blind. For off time fun get a fishing pole and catch your dinner! Have fun... don't worry. After a few months of this (or maybe a year) you will figure out what to do with your life. Actually the best thing of all is your parents throwing you out the door onto your own two feet. Trust me... 30 years from now you'll understand why.

Build a tiny house or buy a vehicle big enough for you to live in. That removes rent from the bills and helps big time. Then you could survive flipping burgers until you find something better. Tiny house is the best way to go I think though.

Build it yourself too I'm sure it would be a great experience and take your mind off all the other stuff. If I ever face homelessness this is my plan.

Well, 10 years ago, the get a job, get out on your own, gravel, and carve your own niche, build a business, like build a bear would have worked. I have a view different than most. In this current climate of pending chaos and uncertainty, I would suggest dropping your individual goals and focus on saving your out of touch duped parents. THE UNITED STATES IS UNDER SEIZE FROM WITHIN AND THE MEAN TO TAKE, BY FAKE BY ANY MEANS, THE WEALTH BY FORCE IF MEED BE, ANY AND ALL OF YOUR PARENTS ASSETS! THEY STUPIDLY DO NOT REALIZE THE SITUATION THEIR GENERATION IS IN. THEIR PENSIONS, THEIR ASSETS, THEIR MONEY,WHICH YOU DON'T HAVE BEEN FORFEITED! THERE IS A REASON WHY YOU'VE BEEN SHUT OUT OF THE CAPITALISTIC JOB MARKET! THERE IS TO BE NO REAL GROWTH WORK! PERIOD! So next the logical question becomes. How do you, your parents, scrape enough commodities to eat and live when there's no money (fiat currency) or inter-produced available food to eat when this countries finances are wiped out? THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL! READ UP ABOUT VENEZULA, BRAZIL, AND OTHER COUNTRIES BROUGHT TO THEIR KNEES, JUST LIKE THE US WILL ONE DAY COMING VERY SOON. I SUGGEST YOU START GETTING AN EDUCATION IN PREPPING AND SELF SURVIVAL SO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY CAN SURVIVE THE UPCOMING WORLD WIDE HOLOCAUST! THAT'S TRUE FOR ANY OTHER IDIOT THAT BELIEVES THERE'S LIFE GOING ON AS USUAL! NO, YOUR LIFE, OUR LIFE. THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO BE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN! DROWNING IN BILLS AND DEBT, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO PAY IT BACK WHEN THE IRS COMES KNOCKING! THE CUSHION OF INDIVIDUAL CAPITALISM IS OVER! ALL WILL FORFEIT FOR ALL, GOOD, BAD, PERVERTED, AND DOWNRIGHT HORRIFYING EVIL! THEIR WORLD, OUR WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IS CHANGING AND IT AIN'T FOR THE GOOD. GOOD LUCK, OP. YOU, AND EVERY OTHER STILL HANGING ON AMERICAN DREAMER WILL NEED IT!
