The wholly unfortunate part of this is that you do not need a law degree or license to be a supreme court justice.. the founders thought people would have enough sense to not appoint idiots with an anti- American agenda, those seats were made for the common man who wanted to protect his fellow citizens from fedgov over reach.

I hope you are not actually an American writing this. Because if you are, you have ZERO understanding of our system of government.

A President can only NOMINATE a person to the Supreme Court; he does not "appoint" them.

Once a President NOMINATES a person, the United States Senate must "advise and CONSENT."

If the Senate does not CONSENT, then the Nominee is rejected (BY THE SENATE) and someone else must be nominated.
