Venezuala's Socialist Government Begins Starving its Population to Death. As Socialist Governments Always Do

For all those college educated (ah, er, indoctrinated) students and other older morons who think that Socialism is the best thing for this county, perhaps they should take a look at a Socialist/Communist paradise to our south. Venezuela.

Some facts they might want to consider before supporting the Sanders / Hillary campaigns.
. In the past week six infants died because their wasn't enough medicine or functioning respirators.
. Chronic power outages have prompted the gov't to begin rationing electricity, darkening homes and shopping malls.
. Homes and apartments regularly suffer water shortages
. Long lines exist to buy whatever food is available.
. Toilet paper is almost non-existant
. Price controls have created shortages for everything from medicine to meat.
. While the economy shrank by 10% last year, and is expected to shrink another 8% this year, oil rich Venezuela has an inflation rate of 700%. The world's worst.
. One in 10 people want to leave the country, and more than a million have already left. (coming here?)
. They have the second highest murder rate in the world - 90 per 100,000. We have 4 per 100,000.
. Venezuela has an 85% chance of defaulting on it's debt in the next 12 months.
. It used to export rice, coffee and meat. Now it imports all three.
. The number of private companies shrank by 20% between 2006 and 2014.
. Finally, for all those single payer, gov't controlled health care enthusiasts, get this. Medical associations and health care specialists say preventable deaths are rising dramatically because of lack of medicine, equipment and doctors. 90% of crucial medicines are scarce. Patients lay on bare beds in rooms with dirty floors. There is often no running water, cleaning supplies or food. Feces floats in toilets, and gang members roam the halls, forcing the remaining underpaid doctors to lock themselves in their offices.

So, since all the Bernie and Hillary voters want all their free stuff, I suggest they move to Venezuela, where you can get the Socialist paradise you obviously seek.

What you morans don't get is thst by deliberately conflating two essentially unrelated system you only accomplish two things:

- you undermine your argument on Socialism, because Americans aren't petrified of becoming like Sweden

And

- you actively convince American kids to embrace socialism, because you convince them that Bernie is pushing socialism and they like what he's pushing.

If you want to fight socialism good, I'm with you, but if you want to conflate socialism and the Nordic Model of capitalism aka Democratic Socialism then I'm not gonna be part of that, because it's obvious that the outcome is more support for socialism in America.

That's the downside of socialism. Its based on everyone working to help others who don't. Once the scale tips to more people not working it all falls apart.

Communism is very good system but only if people are smart and not focused on making money.

In my country Communism failed because people are dumb and wanted Coca Cola and Disneyland instead of common good like goverment run water supply or free kinderagrtens or public health care system.

You forgot the most important thing - USA is trying to "democratize" Venezuela and change the regime there. US sanctions caused the crisis in Venezuela. Just stop meddling in other countries' affairs and they will stop collapsing. USA = EVIL.

What chiefly drives this sort of political corruption today is capitalism's structure. For many capitalist enterprises, competitive and other pressures exist to increase profits, growth rates, and/or market share. Their boards and top managers seek to find cheaper produced inputs and cheaper labor power, to extract more output from their workers, to sell their outputs at the highest possible prices and to find more profitable technologies.


Now democracy is what makes this country great.

Politics aside, for the majority of the people there that you all refer to as the "poor", this will affect them very little. These are people that have lived for generations previous without electricity or running water, and notice nor fret very little if those services go away for hours or even days. They buy, or trade for their food daily from friends and neighbors who grow it or slaughter it. Refrigeration isn't even that big of a deal - although a nice convenience. If you haven't seen it for yourself you would be shocked at how peaceful, unworried, and relaxed their lives are. Even with no welfare everyone seems to get taken care of.

Many of you are speaking from watching FOX or CNN and seeing random internet clips. This does not represent 80% of the general life there outside of downtown and wealthy areas.

The US is a socialist country , that's how Obama won his second term, he gave to the inner cities, while the middle class gets taxed to death.
