I say we pay kids to work in a coal mine or salt mine during summer vacation.

Then they can see what no-education-work (unskilled labor) is really like.

They will be so greatfull to go back to school they'll get straight A's and stop bitching!

I'm not hung up on giving the family member money. If it gives A's and B's through harder work, it's a blessing and worth it.

It's not forever. If he or she becomes a Doctor or Astronaut through harder work plus a taste of money and how to obtain it then I've done a diligent job. I can go to my grave with a smile.
