I hate shopping for anytthing. Except internets shopping.

we used to have this dance studio down the corner from us, and every year this woman who ran it would sell tickets for the annual recital on a "first come, first served" basis. NNOOOOOOOOO she couldn't mail the suckers out to the people paying money to have their kids get dance lessons, you had to come to this place in PERSON to get them. and of course there ARE people afflicted with a pathological need to come to things super-duper early. so, the night before the tickets went on sale you'd see them line up with their cots, sleeping bags, small children, ice chests, ect. you had to cut through a line of people just to get in your front gate. i don't want to think about how they went to the bathroom [i never saw portable units there]. apparantly this is an ongoing phenomena across the land, but only a few of us are privleged to have it happen to us. it happened to me at least three years in a row.

the irony is these people will be the first in line for the gulags.

Friday, the day after Thanksgiving is the biggest sale day of the year.
