When SHTF do you plan to use an inverter and car batteries to run your video games?

I just put a 950gtx in my desktop. only 90 watts but my cpu would take too much juice. maybe the wii u is what I will have to go with :(

The system you're thinking of is essentially how back up power systems work but on a much larger scale. For any long term use you would need multiple car batteries daisy chained, a method charging them and maintains the charge and then an inverter with enough wattage to handle the load.

In short, buy a generator and keep some gas handy, it's a lot easier.

I was going to ride it out in the city and jack car batteries after everyone killed each other. that will probably be easier than finding gas. might be time to buy a solar generator though

100% off grid here. 16000 watt solar with 3 400 watt wind generators and, sloar well pump. I learned years ago to get off the grid.
All sloar panels are on a lowering platform so it can be lowered during storms.
Took 8 years to build my system and during that time we lived off generators powered by propane.
I'll never go back to the city or on the grid, we would rather have light by candles.

where did you find that solar well pump? I'm in las vegas and have a well can definitely use that. why not just use a manual crank pump?

I would work for a litle while but the fizzics of car batteries will win and the batteries experience a very premature death.

When the doohdooh hits get the traction batteries designed for that type of use but mind the volts under10 stop and charge before you use them again

if you're dumb enough to waste any stored power on video games via console/PC, you are as good as dead.

if by some chance there is some spare time to be had and you have massive stock of AA/AAA batteries, gameboys are feasible. but don't think for a second that watch duty would be an appropriate time.

IF an EMP hits and chaos ensues you wont need video games to play your shooter games,, everyday trying to survive will be a REAL LIFE shooter. Get your real gun loaded and ready to play!
