I have a hard time believing this because every time I fly out of LAX my passport gets checked at least 3 - 4 times. Seems like the English need to get their shit together.

I have flown out of Stansted on many occasions with Ryan Air and yes the security is not exactly tight.

Generally fairly lackadaisical with a British passport to Europe, especially Western Europe. Unless you look suspicious (that might mean just being non-White) they don't give a shit if you are leaving the country.
