They have been developing desalinization plants but they don't work well and are useless for agriculture. Water conservation efforts in Israel have been quietly in full-force for decades. Israel's main water source is the Sea of Galilee. It is rapidly depleting and Israel is facing the actual reality of having no fresh water for irrigation or consumption.
