I was wondering why they would be sending those big monstrosities to Syria. I know they can stay up longer in the air than fighter jets but it seems like they are using a hammer to kill a mosquito.

I have no idea. I wonder why the Russians would quit when they are being successful and I don't buy for moment that the Russians are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts to bring in aid to the ordinary Syrians trapped in war zones. They would be considered collateral damage in the war against Islamic Extremists just like many innocent German civilians were considered collateral damage in the fight against the Nazis. Why quit when you are ahead and winning so that your foes can recoup and get in more so called aid that is really weapons shipments?
