That is the default value for a date value if it is not set. Thus, when these emails are sent with no information, it's obvious it would be from that time. It's called the Unix epoch, Google it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 28767810 United States 03/07/2016 11:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Mysterious emails dating from 1970 have been turning up in baffled iPhone users' inboxes. Quoting: Voluntarist The ghostly communications have no subject, sender or contents either. Confused smartphone users have been taking to social media to ask if these mysterious messages could be damaging. Their existence, however, appears to be down to an iPhone glitch, rather than anything more malicious. The glitch appears to affect users of email apps on the iOS operating system that the iPhone and iPad run on, and sees them receive empty messages dated January 1, 1970. It is not linked to the bug that encouraged people to set their device’s date to January 1, 1970 , and then break the phone beyond repair, the Telegraph reported. MORE: [link to www.mirror.co.uk] Maybe time travelers, sending messages to us about ww3 About to happen, they went back to 1970,hoping to figure away to stop some events that led up to ww3 soon to come. The reason the message is empty is because it gets scrambled and deleted before it actually reaches the today's time. Why? Because they have built a portable cell tower which is not perfect in the Time they are in 1970, they do not realize right now that the messages are not reaching today's time. They will not figure this out for a while, someone will come back and try to relieve a message, it won't be there so in 1972 they will correct the problem. Which will be out 2018. So keep eyes open |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38108324 The inventor just died at age 74. My old neighbor worked as a higher up for Ford and others. Age 70. He was heavy into computers way back in college. He did say there were message boards & they played a game called "Hunt the wompuss" (not sure of that spelling) on a computer. He seemed to sense lots of doom last time we spoke in 2015. |

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |
