NASA's Scott Kelly says he tested a 3D simulator about aliens attacking and taking over the ISS, while he was in space.
Around 20:00 he says that aliens handle zero gravity better than human astronauts.

Then around 29:00 he says he tested a 3D simulator that had a module where aliens attacked and took over the ISS.

That's a lot of alien mentions in a single interview, for a NASA astronaut, specially a space-station commander.

I guess it won't take any longer low...

A little joke about aliens handling gravity better than humans and some kind of human-machine-interface experimental device being tested that had a game that involved shooting space aliens...

...yep, we are so totally doomed, the bastards are coming.

Re: NASA's Scott Kelly says he tested a 3D simulator about aliens attacking and taking over the ISS, while he was in space.
What I find remarkable is how those astronauts in ISS are always smiling and grinning, not a care in the world. Only flying through a radioactive belt, with small meteorites flying by all the time, 10x faster than a bullet, a space station that can kill them all in case of a fire, the vacuum outside can explode the station any second.

It seems so artificial and unrealistic to normal human behavior.

It's well known submarine sailors go crazy after a while from the stress and paranoia being in a confined space deep underwater, but on the ISS they don't seem bothered at all, smiling all the time, look at me I can blow water bubbles and float around. Perhaps they're all on prozac and xanax?

It's probably a more surreal experience to be far above the Earth in orbit than to be down in the deep ocean. First of all you're weightless; plus I hear the view is out of this world.

I just don't believe such a flimsy space station can withstand a complete vacuum, same with that space suit if it doesn't explode the second it comes into contact with the vacuum, the space suit would blow up like a tyre of a car because of the inverted pressure.
Have you tried bending the tyre of your car when there is more than 2 bar in there?

He was up there for nearly a year and much of it by himself. He also floated around in a gorilla costume. So what's your point?

Submarine sailors go crazy because they don't have a cupola to gaze upon the sea depths, like astronauts can gaze upon Earth and space.

Spacesuits are specifically designed to handle the pressure, and yeah, they are stiff and difficult to work in. That's why these guys have to be in peak physical shape when they go on missions, particularly those involving spacewalks. Is it impossible for divers in big heavy metal dive suits to move around while deep in the sea under even larger pressure differences? No?

I wonder if any of the astronauts who came up for crew changes during that
year ever bothered to sneak a mini-bottle or two of, say, Absolute or Stoli,
for Kelly?

Or perhaps even a nice wedge of space cake?

Do a search on the first attempt at a space walk. The cosmonaut almost lost his life because his suit blew up like a balloon almost preventing him from re entering his capsule. They/we have learned a lot since then.

It happened because the suit lacked a valve to enable the guy to release some of the pressure. You could only release all or none of it. The Russians even told the US about this, to ensure they did not make the same mistake.
