What I find remarkable is how those astronauts in ISS are always smiling and grinning, not a care in the world. Only flying through a radioactive belt, with small meteorites flying by all the time, 10x faster than a bullet, a space station that can kill them all in case of a fire, the vacuum outside can explode the station any second. It seems so artificial and unrealistic to normal human behavior. It's well known submarine sailors go crazy after a while from the stress and paranoia being in a confined space deep underwater, but on the ISS they don't seem bothered at all, smiling all the time, look at me I can blow water bubbles and float around. Perhaps they're all on prozac and xanax? |

I just don't believe such a flimsy space station can withstand a complete vacuum, same with that space suit if it doesn't explode the second it comes into contact with the vacuum, the space suit would blow up like a tyre of a car because of the inverted pressure. Have you tried bending the tyre of your car when there is more than 2 bar in there? |

That's why these guys have to be in peak physical shape when they go on missions, particularly those involving spacewalks. Is it impossible for divers in big heavy metal dive suits to move around while deep in the sea under even larger pressure differences? No? [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] |

You could only release all or none of it. The Russians even told the US about this, to ensure they did not make the same mistake. |
