RUSSIA WITHDRAWING FROM SYRIA!

I'd say there are several theories. The most straightforward one is that the mission was failed and terminated. The original estimate was 4 months for recovering the entire Syrian territory, and we are long past due and not nearly there, because the operation depended on the Syrian and Iranian ground troops, who turned out to be inefficient. Besides that, there's an obvious conflict of interest with the Iranians: they don't want to freeze their oil production and thwart Putin's plans to create of a new oil cartel with Russia and OPEC countries, also they unilaterally pass the SAMs they get from Russia to Hezbollah, heating up Russia's relations with Israel.. They are no good allies at all. Without Iran, Russia can't do much in the region: we depend both on their ground troops and their airspace to supply Russian troops. At the same time, Russia is under heavy economic pressure because of the sanctions and oil prices. If that's the reasons for the withdrawal, I hope Putin has at least negotiated lifting the sanctions in exchange.. If not, it's a total loss.

A more curious theory is that a Turkish\Saudi\NATO invasion of Syria is looming. By the declaration of the withdrawal, Russia makes it problematic for Turkey to attack Russian forces there while they are in withdrawing, which might take long. It would be easier to declare the Turks aggressors if they still pull in and hit some of the Russian assets. Also, there's no chance Russia can protect the troops in Syria against the Turks without resorting to tactical nukes, which would in turn likely trigger a world war, which isn't the plan of Putin, so by withdrawing the troops Putin makes a tactical move, saving the good assets. If Russia steps up for Syria in case of a big war, having the assets on other directions would be more reasonable.

This is a very weird move by Russia and I don't really support it.
I guess they agreed with the US on how to do in Syria.. but they should know that the US allies are a-holes and won't follow the ceasefire agreement (Saudi and Turkey).

Like they already been said... Putin's keeping Tartus and Latakia up and running. This is merely a minimal pullback (if at all) since the Syrian Army now has the upper hand against ISIS. Not to mention Hezbollah, Iran, and others have joined along Assad's side to fight on the ground which will continue their win streak.

I feel that by Russia publicly stating an "end" to the Syrian operation, he's purposefully giving any Western powers (including Turkey and the gulf states) an opportunity to ship anti-aircraft weaponry and/or invade Syria. If this happens Russia has a pretext to then "comeback" to protect their assets and Assad since the West (or Turkey or Gulf states) have negated the ceasefire and peace process.

Another reason for Russia "ending" their Syrian operation would be to consolidate resources and expertise for a new front else where. Ukraine anyone? Another option is backing North Korea in the event of a war between the North and the South. The last month or so of China and Russia backing sanctions on North Korea is a total smoke screen to make the West believe that nobody will stand in its way of helping South Korea to finally take the North. Total smoke screen. China will never let that big of a US presence on its door step, likewise Russia has absolutely no reason to abandon North Korea. If war happens, which i think it will soon, the U.S. is expecting an easy win against the North when in reality the North will strike hard and fast with Chinese and Russian help (wether direct or indirect is to be seen).
