The reason the current unemployment numbers appear lower than in the 70's is that the way the numbers are calculated are different. Measured the same way, we are worse off than in the 70's. Comparing apples to oranges never presents a truthful picture of a situation, which is handy to remember if you are trying to discern the truth, or obscure it. Changing definitions of words is a favorite lawyer trick, and changing the formulas used to make a calculation is useful if you want to lie with statistics. |

I've worked in the 70's and I've worked in the 10's. Trust me, the 70's were much better. All the fucking factories that used to cover our country are GONE.
