When I was a kid I fully intended to live in Europe.
I even called and got airline rates when I was 12 and studied maps of various countries before falling asleep at night.
I filled notebooks with information about some of the countries. Completely obsessed.

I never managed to get there, but apparently, that's a good thing.

When i was in my 20's, i spent a month there roadtripping with my german friends all over europe. Then, spent quite a bit of time in paris for work. I used to say, i wish i had gone to the middle east in my 20's before it got so bad, (20yrs ago), but now, im really glad i went when i did.
Last trip to paris, the day i was headed home there was a terror threat in the international terminal for US bound planes.
I never went back.
