Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71102680 Hmm - you think the Falklands would be better under Chinese rule? No wonder there was never a Bulgarian empire. Apart from a womble....what has Bulgaria ever given the world. Hairy women? . Even if you are in a minority of one, the truth is still the truth. |

Quoting: Anderson_G [link to www.rt.com (secure)] Its a done deal, we have lost it, we no longer have the ability to project power to defend it any more anyway. You'd be surprised what we can do... Have a look at the deployments we have there and our nuke sub would be a hell of a deterrent they have no navy and no Airforce the Argentine alone can't do anything and if someone else wanted to join the party overtly or covertly we could still hold up well. Lmao. I do think understand where ppl get he idea that Britain cannot project power. She is far from alone. Not One Step Backwards |

Yeah but the inhabitants, the Falkland Islanders choose to be a dependency. By your arguement they have that right as they themselves live closer to the rocks than the Argentinian people do. It's their choice or should we say that all none indigenous Argentinians need to leave South America? |

It's not official yet. Looks like the Argies have jumped the gun, hence why London is quiet as well. Otherwise, can you imagine how difficult life could get for the islanders. It wouldn't actually change a thing all it would do is allow the Argies to give more umph to their complaints it wouldn't physically have an impact... If other nations however decided to weigh in and say stop shipping to support Argentina or because Argentina says that they can't enter those waters then it could be more of an issue and require more of a British naval presence... Argentina alone has no capability to do anything in regards to the Falklands unless they go full retard and use fishing boats and dingies to invade with. |
