The Welfare System is enslaving no one. I know a lot of people in the welfare system. Most of them had no motivation to do better to begin with. They didn't want to put in the effort to get an education. They don't want to put in the effort to get a job, and do what it takes to keep that job.

The welfare system is responsible for giving us taxpayers a steady stream of new welfare recipients, by REWARDING WOMEN TO HAVE CHILDREN SO THEY CAN GET MORE BENEFITS.

I invite you to come spend some time in Mississippi. There is garbage on the road everywhere you look that needs to be cleaned. There are job openings posted in entry level jobs on the doors. There are lazy ass people who need to work so they'll learn some pride and see how good it feels to earn their own money.

If you know anything about us in MS, you'll know we will not let the disabled people starve. We help each other in times of need, but enough is enough with the lazy ass people.

Lazy ass people = white, black, hispanic, asian, indian, etc who are able to work but choose not to.

according to the video, many states who had these requirements ( which were stopped by big O's admin) are reinstating them.

I don't think the disabled or people who can't work is who they are targeting. They're targeting able bodied people. And I think they should work. At one point in my life I got laid off and I had to work to feed my child. I've been in the ditches with the Mexicans, I've busted rock, anything to feed my child . I'm a white, college educated woman. They need to work.If you able bodied, get to work. I remember waiting for the work trucks to pull up to get some work, there was a few times they didn't pick me because I was female- the only one. I would just hang out and pick up garbage around the place. GO TO WORK!

If someone is willing to starve instead of doing some community service than they are simply too stupid to live anyways and I say good riddance!

The "excuse" is people capable of working who, with all the benefits they can scam the system for, create a generational welfare state that the rest of us cannot afford to continue paying.

Utilities, phones, rent, child care, food, etc. can easily become the equivalent of a $50,000 per year "job" with no taxes, no effort, no contribution to the local community.

Not the truly disabled, not people with infants, but those who are able bodied and don't have small children should, in my opinion, either be in a job training program or doing some community service to "repay in kind" some of what they are reaping.

Mississippi IS in the top 5 of obese people.
Lots of government paid for mobility scooters too.

I can say the food banks have lots of food.They had left over Turkeys where I was and tossed them out.Homeless people can't cook Turkey's. Threw fish out because most people did not want it.

I work for a county government in Colorado and we have the same rule. Able bodied adults need to work. No riots here.

In the UK we've had the work for your benefits system in place for years now, nowadays though they are getting even tougher.

A Similar thing happened in the UK recently at the chancellor of excheqor's yearly budget.

He announced those earning over 40k would be given tax breaks while the all disabled people would have their allowances reduced to nearly nothing.

He was criticized so heavily even from members of his own party that he had to reverse that decision. They'll find another way to target that group in the future though, they'll just have to be more subtle about it.

This will come to USA soon too, bet on it. Yes benefit systems have been abused in some cases for too long, but now the vulnerable and genuinely honest people who find themselves in a bad place will end up getting hurt too, all while bankers who caused this mess with their reckless lending and paid for government stooges are given tax breaks.
