I had those years ago. They were kinda cool in a way. I would use a flashlight and the handle of a toothbrush in front of a mirror. You pressed near the side of what seemed to be a yellow spot on the tonsil. That pressure popped out a pretty big stone. Sometimes several out of the same hole.

I grew up with tonsillitis every other month and it left me with pits and craters all over my tonsils so they collected food. I assume it putrified because the taste in your mouth was indeed like shit. The smell was worse than shit.
