Very much so.

There are only 2 big things in life.

Birth and death.

All the rest is small and all should be enjoyed.

Yes I do!!!! I was just thinking of the way that I create memories for little ones. By being aware of the sounds that birds make. By watching the rain. When you start making memories when they are little. they remember and are grateful.It also helps me to feel gratitude that I can be a part of their lives in such an awesome way. I feels so nice to be grateful. Tnanxs for posting

100 Million Homeless? No doubt that includes Favela shacks counted as a "home". That figure is ridiculous, I'd estimate closer to 1 -2 Billion of the worlds people that have absolutely nothing, not even clothes.

no it's not that i'm trying to convince myself i'm happy, it's that i have to keep bringing myself to have that greater perspective. we lose it sometimes when we fall back in the day to day b.s.

Indeed, some have living quarters so bad (sleeping on the floor, insalubrious etc...), it's like being homeless !

I was also reflecting on gratitude today.

I'm thankful for what I have.

I also appreciate others who share their thoughts.

I amuse myself with what I can be grateful for...

For example; after a shower and shampoo, I thank God for the hot water, that I have a shower, that I have a house, that I'm healthy enough to wash myself,and that I actually have things to wash!

I do it each and every single shower :)
Especially for the hot water part... I am really lucky to have been born in North America.

I have seen enough in this life to know just how blessed I am. I take nothing for granted. I know that the simple things in life are what make life tolerable and many do not even the most basic.

You bet OP. When I eat meat I thank the lil critter that I'm going to eat.

Something I learned a while back: Happiness depends on ourselves.

Although changing something in the external world sometimes makes it easier for us to unlock happiness, it ultimately comes from within. It is only by focusing within that we can find lasting joy.

I've found that when I have trouble feeling happy, it is often due to a lack of sensing and expressing gratitude toward The Universe. As for a simple external activity, I've found that sun-bathing for twenty minutes every day helps bring out an overwhelming sense of gratitude toward existence itself.

So, when I'm feeling down, I toss my ladder against the house, climb up and lay on our flat roof in the sun for a while. It really helps. In fact, it's been quite a while since I've done that come to think of it.

You can't really feel depressed if you are truly grateful for what you have in life, focus on that and you will feel a lot better !

Nowadays that's a trick question if I like the nanoshit.

This is one of the things that depress me.

You can go on and on about the fact animals were put on
Earth to eat.

But to me, they bleed, they feel pain and have feelings too.


I cannot eat the animals.
Big or small.
In the ocean or in the air.

But it the old sense.. I do.
