I just don't like Trump. As a life long Republican, I take my responsibility to country and to my party seriously. Trump can't win the general, and even if he could, he'd be a terribly incompetent president.

Same logic that (president) Harding used to become the nominee when he had only 6% of the delegates. ;) Kasich is not the negotiator that either Harding was or Trump is.
