its also illegal to buy a domain and then sell it because its a popular or unique name but do nothing with it.

you cant flip websites, example google buys youtube years ago it got big, google also did lots of development to enhance it.

Seems like it would be rather difficult to do. Are you talking about setting up and establishing a domain, creating decent content as well as developing a following, and then selling or are you talking about buying something already established?

Buying an up and running website. Make it even better. Then selling for profit.

How do you "make a website better" exactly? I guess you mean finding a good domain name and adding better content or...? Curious.

Very unlikely to work right. I'd rather flip houses than websites. There's no real control flipping sites. Real estate is a far better medium. Even if you're a coder to earn a buck.

It was probably profitable back in the gold rush mid-late 90s but the novelty sort of wore off after the dotcom bubble burst.
