Gee, I would not know because as a middle class support staff in medical field, I cannot afford to live in my own country. That's right. If I attempted to return to Canada, I'd have to leave my pets behind and rent a room with a 40K yearly income (before taxes).

But thanks for letting me know how wonderful my country is. I sure hope the Chinese are enjoying it. And tell them they can thank my great uncle for power lines in remote regions and my grandpa for the railways in N. Ontario.

It's been a long time since Canada did an honest assessment of itself.

Typically new pharmaceuticals are approved 5 to 10 years behind a place like Mexico. We are missing out on some excellent treatments. Though we tell ourselves we are the best.

Compared to a place like Abu Dhabi our architechure is embarrassing. It's boring and so blah.

Our Military is poorly equipped. As far worse is we lack much of the internal manufacturing required to produce a world class Military.

We lead in many areas of Telecommunications until 10 years ago when we let China steal it all. Literally they raided Nortels R&D and bankrupted the company.

The latest consumer gadgets are often available 1 to 2 years in Japan and China before we get them over here. What else would you expect it's not like we manufacture much any more.

We are dangerously behind in many areas, we are just to slow and scared to push the envelope. Notable exception is Vancouver where there is some excellent R&D going on.

Let's not pat ourselves on the back. We ain't that great.

This country was great in 1939 thru 1945.

We had the 4th largest navy in the world and had been sailing supplies to Great Britian, at great loss of life to those brave sailors who dared to help, long before our American cousins decided to help.

We were a hard working, hard fighting, brave nation, who still were saying the Lords prayer or if u prefer the Our Father, up until 1975 at least. We were a country of near endless potential in terms of resources and freedoms.

Sadly the politicians have throw out God and any sense of just what effort was required to settle and farm the prairies.
