Phennommennonn Forum Administrator 04/30/2016 12:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lincolnshire plumber, garage inventor and YouTuber Colin Furze has built an actual working hoverbike - an "unhinged flying bike/human blender [that] unbelievably gets off the ground and actually FLIES," as Furze puts it. Quoting: gmigriff Furze's YouTube video, which shows his attempt at flying the bike, was posted on Thursday and has already been viewed nearly 1.7m times in less than 24 hours. [link to youtu.be (secure)] The self-taught engineer, who features on the Sky 1 program Gadget Geeks, built the contraption in his garage. It has no brake or seat, but has two accelerators and can be steered. As he says in the video, Furze has no formal engineering qualifications and has never flown before, which makes the feat all the more heart-stopping. [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. |

Engonoceras User ID: 72124450 United States 04/30/2016 12:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He needs to redesign it so it's more horizontally stable and add more protection from the blades. Something more umbrella shaped where he's underneath as the weight might be better. You could have the engine built into a small platform that you stand on with a power shaft running straight up turning a single larger propeller. The cowling around the propeller should be able funnel some of the air against the turn of the propeller otherwise it would spin. Last Edited by TexasPaleo on 04/30/2016 12:20 AM |

It is cool that he built it himself, but he literally almost crashes it at one point and jumps away. The blades are far too exposed and he might actually end up cutting his damn head off when he crashes it and goes face first over the handle bars. For Gods sake make it at least semi safe. |

Yeah, the front rotor is especially worrying, if it hits the ground, forces will be applied. But he has some balls to design and then actually fly that thing. |

I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved. |

I follow the other videos of other plane that actually flew. Some would make good start designs for low flyer for car type. Some looked like bubble bees. Some were funny flops but the ones that flew were surprising and I think part of their designs have made it to planes today. Sorry I got a headache These are the times that tries men's and women's souls! May we come though it victorious! |
