Thank you. It is cool. This is the future. It looks like they want to replace the regional jets with large gyrocopters. They seem to be safer and cheaper than helicopters. No runways required.

That is awesome. Perfect for the Grand Canyon. The roters are probally quieter than a helicopter. I wonder if it gives up any maneuverability. Does it hover?

Yes, they are very maneuverable, but they won't hover. The stall speed is very low though. They need almost no runway at all to land. The rotor gains energy as it descends and when they flare out before landing it brings it to almost nothing. I've almost talked myself into building a homebuilt gyro.

I'd kind of like to know what it sounds like on the ground. Does it sound like a helicopter coming toward you, or does it sound like an airplane? I'm guessing that it sounds more like an airplane.
