Quoting: Big Duke6 imho, it's only because they did not try ... they were both a day late and dollar short to the party. You should read the mail friend, your own Canadian media covered this as a best they could and they have all the facts right up until the town burnt down. The federal and provincial government of Cana-duh Decided to cut back on wildfire fighting resources, that is the real story and nobody there is going to buy some BS about a terrorist attack, there was plenty of news about this fire on the second of May and the great federal and provincial government of Cana-Duh blew it off. In fact there were a slew of wildfires going on from the same Lighting storm, in a general area, like over 10 of varying degrees of concern. You just got mis-managed, nobody took into account the winds and the threat to F.M. You have NO Snow there, Relative humidity and the Woods is bone dry in May and this is just the beginning of a long hot summer there. Perhaps there is a reason what resources there were diverted to a brush fire in the weeds is a problem, there were many that sprung up from the same storm in the area and it is documented NEWS. How do you know arsonists are not walking about, lighting matches on windy days? Do you think that destroying any ability to use this area for oil production has a purpose? Investor protectionism is The Name of the Game and they are murdering and destroying anything in their way. Call it the Samson Option if you would like. But they plan has been underway for a century and a prosperous N. American continent is not going to allow them to reinvest in developing nations. These are not smart people but they are determined, backed by a red blooded royal family and bankers who have done far worse. Remember the experiments on CHILDREN in Canada? These are the people in charge. Had a dream long ago which showed me the future and it was not pretty. Been watching closely ever since. |

Full propane tanks remaining intact until the fire burned out. Physics is a weird, amazing thing that sometimes does you favors. well, the Propane won't explode until the tank casing explodes from the increased pressure caused by the heat. then, once the casing explodes (pressure), it is then that the propane needs an ignition source. so, if the fire is moving fast, then it hasn't got time to heat the steel casing (and steel doesn't normally catch fire... . |

Samara User ID: 53936955 Canada 05/05/2016 08:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The facts are Western Canada is getting hammered with record heat every year, earlier 'n earlier in the season. High 20's and a few +30c in may area the past few weeks. We finally got some rain last night. First time since early last fucking MONTH. High winds and thunderstorms rolling now could spark a wildfire in my backyard. its getting fucking dangerous out here yet everyone is more focused on some political terroristic bullshit. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71325234 Better have a bug out bag ready just in case. Gather all important legal docs, eg. passport, birth certs, marriage/divorce papers, house ins. policy, home ownership docs. Expensive Jewellery, change of clothing, toiletries. Important prescriptions. We all should have these things readily available during fire season & it makes it so much less stressful to get out the door fast. Also keep the gas tank filled all the time. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69020951 Wiki says that it started South of the urban service area, which just means south of Fort McMurray. Technically, it was a city until 1995, when it became an urban service area. [link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)] This does not mean a service centre, i.e. gas stations.
