If Coffee/Caffeine Is Heathy For You Then Why?
How is it that Coffee/Caffeine is heathy for you when it decreases blood flow to the brain in the range of 27% approx. Decreased blood flow starves the brain of vital things. In any other area blood restriction to the brain is viewed as a negative. Were told to do this and that to increase blood flow to the brain for good overall brain health.

So how is it that Coffee/Caffeine is given a pass nowadays? Saying that it can possibly prevent brain Alzheimer's disease etc.

Isn’t this all a contradiction?

I'll need to see something to prove there's a loss of 27% of the blood flowing into the brain............Otherwise BS.............

Maybe in some ways, but overall probably not. It's a bad habit of mine and I feel like it keeps me from thinking well.

If all I needed to do was pound nails or enter data then it wouldn't matter but I need to think and I think that coffee gets in the way.

Just get some energizing cannabis. It actually increases blood flow to the brain and is a blood purifier.

Coffee does have some beneficial antioxidants and all sort of phytochemicals so that's why it has always been debated over for almost 2 centuries at least whether or not it's healthy. Imho, there are equal e nergizers out there with none of the negative side effects. The pros don't outweigh the cons with coffee

Here is an ABC report with the MRI. The effects of coffee on the brain as seen by MRI:

Here is a NCBI report that I got the 27% from.

"Caffeine reduced CBF by an average of 27% across both caffeine states. "

Hope that helps.

So many contradictions. Some studies show it could help reduce Parkinsons.

Literally every bodily function begins in the brain. Healthier brain= Healthier organs, glands, everything. So I would advise against decreasing nutrients and oxygen to it

I work in a very technical area in the creative field and have the same concerns as you. I want peak performance.

I also saw first hand what Alzheimer's can do.

Another area is eyesight. Some studies show it can help prevent certain eye issues..

This is why I said there are so many contradictions.

Life is short, so the investment you make in things that must be accumulative over time, you either do them or not. However many years from now either way you decide you cant go back and try it the other way if you choose wrong.

So that's why we all search for the answers. You would think the medical/Bio field with all of its billions spent could figure this crap out in 2016 :/

Exactly what got me thinking this as I was drinking some.

However then they say green tea is great for overall health, and the theanine counters caffeine constriction since theanine is a vasodilator. Then we have the fluoride content of tea to contend with. But thats another subject.

Holy Hell........ :/

Better version of that ABC report.

{This is Your Brain on Caffeine: Images Reveal Startling Mental Effects}

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

In this MRI report brain flow was restricted by 40% by caffeine from coffee.

It's better than the fluoride in tap water. Because fluoride is naturally occurring in the tea so it has drastically reduced negative effects.

Correct! Sodium Fluoride is whats in our tap water, the naturally occurring fluoride in tea is not. Your body is able to piss out and get rid of natural fluoride, sodium fluoride sticks around...

We all agree that there are health benefits of coffee. The question is do they outweigh the cons? I don't think they do and you can get every benefit of coffee from something else without negative reactions such as caffeine withdrawal related to the constricted veins throbbing from a sudden increase in blood flow after the caffiene restricted them for 6-10 hrs
