Quake swarms in Mt aso super volcano in Japan
This volcano is capable of a eruption almost as bad as Yellowstone or Long Valley.

The ground has risen noticeably on web cam and it's been having swarms above 3 to 4 mag a lot lately.

These quakes are within the region. If this volcano erupts we could see another volcanic winter. It's a huge caldera and a town is sitting on it.

Largest eruption at Mt. Aso was a VEI 7. A Supereruption is a VEI 8. 10x stronger.

Think it's prepping for another one? This had two in the past. What we saw was only one vent erupting in the past. Imagine when they all open up?

So is it safe to say Aso is unstable? I never seen so much activity occurring at a giant caldera.

Aso is Offlimit since last Year anf Eruptions are happening regulary,
ergo: a Super-Eruption will not occur in the next Days, Weeks and Months.
