writing a check on a closed account is a 5 year felony

I did file the police report. Today in the morning....

Took forever..... two hours..... and then another two hours... going to the right police station.... of where I gave him cash.... and where the check was deposited.....

I asked the police officer, if I can go to this guys house....

He said, I would have gone a long time ago....

So, I did... his address on that check is his current address....

When I knocked on his door... His mom opened up.... He wasnt home.... I just told her.... so and so is looking for him....

And then.... I get several texts from him......

One saying...."You can't just show up to people's house like that man. I get that you are angry.. But, it's not going to make anything go quicker by you doing things like that"

I didnt tell him.... that a police report was already filed......

Forgery is the charge, when I spoke to a detective. For the check and the other half, I would have go to civil court.

He keeps saying that his bank account is frozen and that he will pay me back.... after everything is resolved.....

Scam scam scam, i wonder what they were using the "business" building for?? rub an tug? pot farm? nukes? fuck, dont be so trusting next time bro.

I have no idea, what the building was used for.... It was supposed to have been a Hookah Lounge

Yup, cant trust people.... I look at it... as a learning experience.....

It has been about 10 days since I filled a police report...

I havent heard anything from the police... is this normal and how long does it take for the police to contact you?
