Some reasons foreigners change their name when coming to the US:
(1) Customs clerk can't understand foreign accent or spell original name right and puts down as official what he/she hears.
(2) Immigrant gets tired of Americans not being able to properly pronounce name and changes it to something even the most doofus American can say.

In the first place it wasn't Dumpf, it was Drumpf. In the second place it wasn't his father. It was a grandfather. Many people change their last names to something easier to pronounce after emigrating to the US. Such a lame dumbass argument.
