W. W. Raupp's Investment Advice for 2007
This is not professional advice. This article is to be regarded as opinion. This article is based on the assumption (as no one can be sure) that the bull market in commodities will continue (however, as expected by the majority of analysts) and the US economy will have a soft landing.

Use this advice at your own discretion and responsibility.

After several e-mails, personal messages and other forms of communication coming from the conspiracy corner of the Wide World Web, I'll try to compile some basic knowledge for those that wish to try and earn a little money the coming year. This is quite a short article for my doing; heed this advice if you want to, no one's forcing you to act upon it.

What I say...

Water related funds -- if fresh water futures ever hit the NYMEX, become involved. It will make you the richest man on GLP. This is not a survival tactic, this is a money maker's tactic. Listen to the Old Grumpy Bastard© and strike it rich.

Gold is going to perform very well but I want things that are like a rocket. I'd say to try and find some good timber related funds. Timber's on the rise with all the construction in the eastern sections of the world, and so is argiculture. Corn, soybeans, coffee, this is the stuff you want to allocate your money for real returns. Starbucks shares? Hell no, coffee makes much a bigger return. And I have said it before, but Asian real estate is still one of my all time favorites. The Asian real estate market is, compared to its European and American counterparts, horribly undervalued. Find an Asian real estate fund and buy it.

Become involved, don't linger for a month to wait and predict but buy:

(Precious) Metals
Gold and silver can be held physical, but zinc, obviously, cannot.
Silver
Zinc futures
Nickel futures

Soft Commodities
Futures contracts. One year preferably.
Orange Juice
Coffee
Soybeans
Palm Oil
Corn

Funds
Asian Real Estate
Timber
Water

Stock
Uranium Mines

Take the corrections for granted and leave them for a year. The returns will be higher than any stock, I guarantee.

Matthew 6:19-34

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Re: W. W. Raupp's Investment Advice for 2007
The giving of financial advice during a paradigm shift, is like offering swimming lessons in the midst of a tsunami.

One of the greatest original factors that contributed toward separation, iniquity, suffering and disease in modern society was the invention of money, and consequently a very active trading climate that fostered tendencies toward greed, ownership, power and conflict. The societal financial systems today conduce toward worldwide domination of the many by the few wealthy and influential. Where a monetary system exists and is exploited by greed - as it has been for so long all around the world - monopoly, corruption, manipulation, injustice, decadence and consequent suffering will always follow closely behind.

In the words of Timothy: "We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out, and having food and raiment let us be here with content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition; for the love of money is the root of all evil."

However, there exist today alternatives that are able to replace the monetary systems, and so remedy the problems created by world trade and its associated misdemeanours. One such alternative is the equitable bartering system which is completely free of monetary exchange.

New methods such as these have already been established and are operating successfully in certain communities throughout the world. In the near future, and following the total collapse of the world's false economies, all humanity will be coerced to utilise such alternative means. However, those who possess a true vision of the coming changes and needed adjustments are already today reverting back to more traditional values of sustenance and sharing, for they are most aware that a period of time approaches when community and co-operative living will be essential to the survival of the race.

The only currency that will bring true riches in the times to come, is love.

God forbid water ever become a commodity.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 148151

It's already a commodity. You pay for it if you want clean fresh water -- unless you go high into the mountains. Water companies that deliver bottled water deliver clean water for money. Investing in clean water is done through funds and perhaps bonds. Shares in water companies will probably do well, but I prefer funds. People are trying to make water a commodity, and I will repeat myself, become involved. Learn, read and become active once water is a tradable commodity.

Same story for uranium. If uranium futures are ever made, don't wait but buy 'em.

From what I heard, water is an excellent ATM machine, but for now I have not seen any solid water related issues in the world. Until water problems (aside from Africa) hit the mainstream media, and water companies are raising prices -- be sure to check out what water producing companies are listed on an exchange -- then it is a good time to seriously getting into water. For now, I consider it a side dish because water related problems aren't too "big" yet to become a real point of focus for companies. As for now, I think desalination plants are a good option.

I don't know what kind of specific companies to pick, I am a Fund Man. And I don't live a long time in the same location, I like to stay mobile. Most of my business is done through Dutch, French and banks in Luxemburg, nations that have a long history of financial anonimity and security. The water/soft commodity/metals funds presented by them are the best, in my most humble opinion. I am planning to follow my own advice (aside from my regular stu), starting with only $1000 just for giggle and see where it goes.

Africa, on a sidenote, is having an economic boom. It's a good place to invest, but not as an individual. Don't get into Africa funds, unless it is commodity related but be watchful: Africa has some unstable regimes, and those regimes tend to have a lot of valuable stuff in the soil. South Africa, Botswana and Namibia should be avoided. South Africa's gold production has been falling (idem for Australia) and Botswana's diamond wealth won't last forever. Same story for Namibia, albeit on a lesser scale. For some fun twist, I'd look into Zimbabwe when Mugabe bites the dust. Not buying, just casing the joint and see if any white farmers are willing to return.

i was thinking of OEX "puts", the farther away the better. if the market plummets you can rake in 20, 30 or 40 times your investment. you can't use the rent money for this kind of thing BUT.... for those of you who can casually plunk down a couple of grand on something, it might be a great idea. if the market makes any great moves in the next year it will be

D explosion
O explosion
W explosion
N explosion

When the Western World (USA, Europe, Japan) notice these events and the newswires start reporting on these events, then it will become a 'real' crisis. Sometimes you need to wait for the worst to start investing, and when things become even worse, other people will follow. Not all parts of the globe will dry up, and those places have a lot of cash. There's the place you need to be, and before the masses jump onto water like moths around a candle, you must make your move. I predict water will become the next major bull market within the decade. Or less.

I am looking at this from a strict business perspective, not human, moron.

Re: W. W. Raupp's Investment Advice for 2007
[link to www.awakenedhearts.com]

Excerpt:

"The first major changes will be in politics and economics. A comparative handful of people have controlled our world by manipulating the global economy and literally buying governments and entire nations’ natural resources. The dark leaders in governments, banking and all other powerful positions will fall, and the highly evolved souls who are ready to take over leadership positions will get the reforms underway. Peace negotiations will end wars. Combat units will put down their weapons and occupation troops will return to their countries, and reconstruction of damaged nations will bring back their productivity and prosperity. We will see profound changes in the allocation of the world’s resources that have been controlled by multinational corporations. The fortunes illegally amassed by the Illuminati, which includes their illegal drug industry, will be shared with impoverished countries, and new systems of commerce will be instituted so that people everywhere will benefit. Unjust laws will be repealed and persons who have been wrongly imprisoned will be released. Education in universal truths will replace the erroneous information in textbooks, and the control of media and censorship will end – published, broadcast and televised information will be trustworthy. Free energy developments that have been suppressed will emerge, and new energy sources will be introduced. Transportation will be revolutionized, and new types of building materials will be developed.

As the light keeps intensifying, microbes and all kinds of pestilence will disappear, and there will be no more diseases or disabilities of any kind. In the higher frequencies where we will be living, our bodies will become healthy, missing organs and limbs will grow back, and in appearance we will be youthful. This applies to our domestic and wild animals, too. Also, they will live peaceably with each other, just as they did in early times on Earth, and they will roam freely among the people. We will see that what is commonly called “global warming” has positive purpose and effects. All the changes occurring in our atmosphere and environment are evidence of Earth’s transition from polar extremes to the moderate temperatures of her original paradise self. When this process is completed, deserts will be arable and fertile, the rain forests will be replenished, and all places on the planet will be comfortably habitable.

Telepathic communication between Earth and other locations will become commonplace again. But for now, as these connections are starting to open, be aware that both light and dark sources are eager to reach us. Ask for the protection of the Christed light and demand that only light beings may contact you. Be keenly discerning about what you believe. The purest truth for all of us is within, so ask your godself, or your higher self, for answers and trust your soul’s messages that come as intuition. Part of spiritual growth is learning to consciously communicate with our souls and not rely on information from external sources.

Perhaps the most dramatic change for our world is that governments’ long cover-up of extraterrestrial presence will be revealed, and when there is safety for all, the members of our benevolent space family will introduce themselves. Some have been living among us, others are living within our hollow Earth, and myriad others are surrounding our planet in spacecraft. These souls will use their technology to eliminate the pollution in our air, water and soil to restore Earth’s health and beauty. They will work with our scientists to develop free energy sources not yet known here and new modes of transportation. "

CO.... if we are truly understand the notion that the energies of materialism and selfishness, are now naturally separating from the energies of unity and co-operation, you can see where these people are headed. There is a nice new 3D earth awaiting them, where they can spend many more lifetimes counting their money, adoring their assets, and cheating others.

Good to see you Captain Obvious.

Of course it could be argued that if you exploit the capitalistic beast system, you could than take those profits, and help people.

Hell , you might even be able to turn the system back on itself.

Food for thought my friend.

Re: W. W. Raupp's Investment Advice for 2007
There must be so,e money in water....

T. Boone Pickens in Texas

The notorious oilman has acquired land overlying the Ogallala aquifer and wants to pump and sell as much as 200,000 acre-feet of groundwater annually to one of Texas’ metropolitan centers.

A new undertaking by Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens is even more disconcerting. Pickens has been acquiring acreage overlying the Ogallala aquifer with hopes that he could pump and sell the as much as 200,000 AFY of water to one of the state’s metropolitan centers – El Paso, Lubbock, San Antonio, or Dallas-Fort Worth. Ogallala is already severely depleted. The West Texas farmers rely on the aquifer for water. The aquifer’s minimal recharge rate of less then one AFY means that its users are mining fossil water that will not be replenished.

Pickens projects that his prices would be adjusted according to the distance the water has to be pumped: El Paso would pay $1,400 per acre-foot, Dallas would pay $800, San Antonio – more than $1000. Although building a pipeline will be expensive, an estimated $1-$2 billion, these prices are still very high.

The Panhandle Conservation District sanctions extraction up to one AFY per acre of land. Pickens and his partners currently own water rights for 150 acres and are seeking rights for 50 more. This could translate into pumping as much as 65 billion gallons of water a year. The conservation district attempted to reduce the planned extraction amount by half but was not able to because Pickens’ pumping level was equal to that of the Canadian River Authority, a public water supplier that has already been granted an approval to pump. Pickens argued that by law, both had to be treated equally. If Pickens lines up a buyer, financing would come and unprecedented amounts of groundwater would begin to be sold for colossal profits.

A more comprehensive groundwater regulatory regime is needed to prevent devastation of Texas groundwater resources. Further, Texas should abandon the Rule of Capture doctrine. Today, Texas is the only state to retain this antiquated rule.

I'm investing all my cash in peanuts. That way I'll literally be working for peanuts.
Ski now, work later.

O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be.
